  7. At 6' 5" tall, Flo was a powerful spiker. 
  8. Although she didnΓÇÖt start playing volleyball
  9. until the 10th grade, she received a volleyball 
  10. scholarship to the University of Houston, 
  11. where she was named the outstanding
  12. college player in the country.

  14. As a member of the U.S. National WomenΓÇÖs 
  15. Volleyball Team, Flo was chosen to the All-
  16. World Team at the 1981 World Cup Games. 
  17. She led the U.S. team to a silver medal at 
  18. the 1984 Olympics, and later became a 
  19. professional volleyball star in Japan.
